has been named manager of engineering, U. S. Chemicals Department, for Gulf Oil Corp. He will succeed S. A.

Zagnoli, former chief engineer for the department. Mr. Zagnoli has been transferred from Kansas City, to Gulf's Pittsburgh executive offices, where he will be on special assignment. Motor Freight Express of York, has announced the promotion of Raymond I. Baty-kefer as western regional sales manager.

Mr. Batykefer is a native of Pittsburgh and joined the company as district sales manager in 1964. Albert E. Rainaldi has been appointed assistant manager, administration, for Robert J. Bushee Associates, personnel consultants.

Some time ago I deliv-ered certificates for 120 hares of stock to my broker, with instructions to sell when and if the price of the stock rose to $28 a share. The stock never got above $27 and then started on a downward trend. After a while I decided not to sell and told the broker to return my stock certificates.

When I finally received the certificates, they were not my original certificates. They were newly Issued and dated. What happened to my old certificates? What effect will the different prices of the stock based on the differ ent dates have if I sell at ome later time? A. Don't get into a flap. Nothing has changed even though you hold different pieces of paper.

When you delivered your old stock certificates to the broker, he undoubtedly transferred the registered ownership of the shares Into "street name" the name of the brokerage firm.
