Broadway Jones, a tall sn.l youth, who had the distinction of facing the Giants some days ago andt holding them to one hit In the four innings he worked, was ordered upon the firing line today after Glazner had gone to the showers. Traynor Hits 'Em. Traynor had a big day with his bludgeon.

He walked on his first effort and was safe on an error, the next time he went to the plate. After that h-3 delivered a four-sacker, a triple, a double and a single. His homer off Glaaner was a beautiful rainbow fly that sailed over deep left and landed high up In the bleachers. Reb Russell and Charley Grimm produced three swats apiece, mighty slam among the spectators came In the fifth Inning and settled the combat. Four points had been compiled in the opening round.

-Carey led off with a single In the fifth but he was forced by Bigbee who went to second on a passed bail and tallied on a single by Russell. This run was not sufficient as later events rroved, but after Pie had soaked the pill into the sun stand with Reb on the path ahead -of him, the bacon was safe.
