He was owner of the Block Franchise in West Newton for over 30 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin for 37 years and a member of St.

Joseph Church of Bloomfield for 43 years. Army veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Ft. Eustis, VA. He was a 1951 graduate from Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, and continued his education at West Penn Technical School of Pittsburgh. Larry was a member and past commander and past secretary of the U.S.

Power Squadron Ten Mile Unit, also a member of the Westinghouse SURE Retirement Group, the North Huntingdon AARP 3221 Chapter. Larry was an avid boater and was a member of the Charleroi and California Boat Clubs and the Green Cove Yacht Club. Beloved husband of 37 years to Sandra Raspotnik Langer; a brother-in-law, William "Bart" (Fay) Raspotnik of Arizona; a nephew, William "Bart" (Nikki) Raspotnik, Colorado; a niece, Susan (Ron) Peters of Arizona; aunts, Agnes Raspotnik of North Huntingdon and Imogene Gordon of Ohio; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary of the Mount in Mt. Washington in 1949. Upon graduation, John joined the Air Force Reserves and served from October 15, 1950 August 22, 1952 and received the Korean Service Medal. John spent his professional career at Duquesne Light Company where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1991. He worked as Line Crew Top.

She is survived by her parents, Jake and Donna Hidinger; beloved wife of Robert loving mother of Michael and Sara (Mary); granddaughter of Twila Shankle; sister of Susan (Gary) Hudak, Shari (Jed) Schrecengost, and Chris (Jean) Hidinger; Godmother of Joseph Hudak; also many much-loved nieces and nephews, and her devoted dog, Lou.

A consummate caretaker, Cynthia graduated the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing, and served as a registered nurse at Magee Women's Hospital for 15 years. Cindy loved the beach, and collecting treasures such as antique books. She also loved nurturing her family and her dogs, and was inarguably the world's greatest cook. She possessed an undying optimism, a love of adventure, and the heart of a fighter. She had uncommon resilience, which is a legacy of inspiration to all who knew her.

Cindy's compassionate nature made her a staunch advocate for social justice; thus, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in her name to the American Civil Liberties Union, of which she was a proud member. She then went on to cosmetology school. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Jan enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, and was an avid Penguins and Steelers fan. She always looked forward to vacationing in Myrtle Beach with her family. On November 2, 1985, she married Mark E.

VanKirk with whom she has shared 27 years of marriage. Surviving, in addition to her husband and parents, are a daughter, Miranda Lynn VanKirk of Scenery Hill; sister, Yvonne K. Plute (Martin) of Scenery Hill; and two nieces, Carli Lynn Plute and Kelsey Marie Plute. Family and friends will be received in the NICHOL FUNERAL HOME, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, Sunday from 6-9 p.m. and Monday from 1-9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Evangelical Church, Scenery Hill, with Rev. Peter D. Asplin officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
